Panther News and Updates

Hello Parkmont Panther Families,

As we close another wonderful year at Parkmont Elementary, we want to give a special shout-out to our families whose students are moving on to middle school. Thank you for your years of support, partnership, and encouragement. Watching our Parkmont Panthers grow into confident, capable young people has been a privilege, and we are excited to see all they will accomplish in the years ahead.

Your dedication to our school community has helped make Parkmont a place where students feel valued, supported, and inspired to succeed. Whether through volunteering, attending school events, supporting learning at home, or simply cheering on your children each day, your contributions have made a lasting impact. We are grateful for the trust you have placed in us throughout your elementary school journey.

I'd like to take a moment to thank our wonderful PTA for their unwavering support. A special thank you to Anna Chen, PTA President for her boundless energy and enthusisam. Thanks also to Ms. Chen and all the volunteers who made the fifth grade promotion so special. The fifth grade students had an incredible send off to middle school. Ms. Chen has large shoes to fill and we will all miss her.

To the families who will be returning next year, we look forward to continuing our partnership as we begin an exciting new chapter together. As our school theme evolves from Climbing to Success to Roots and Wings, we will celebrate the strong foundations that help our students grow while encouraging them to explore new opportunities, take positive risks, and soar toward their dreams.

Thank you for being an important part of the Parkmont family. We wish our departing students every success in middle school and look forward to welcoming our returning Panthers back for an exciting 2026–27 school year filled with growth, learning, and community.

Warmly,

Walt Lewis, Proud Principal

Bell Schedule for 2026-27

Our 2026-27 Bell Schedule is changing. After our board reviewed our current bell schedule for compliance to state requirements, it turns out we needed to add ten minutes to our bell schedule.

I did want to pull out the proposed start and end times for our Bell Schedule:

TK Every Day:
AM - 8:00AM-11:20AM
PM - 11:30AM-2:50PM

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
Kindergarten: 8:05AM-1:27PM
Grade 1-3: 8:05AM-2:19PM
Grade 4-5: 8:05AM-2:35PM

Wednesday and Minimum Days:
Kindergarten: 8:05AM-11:36AM
Grade 1-3: 8:05AM-1:08PM
Grade 4-5: 8:05AM-1:20PM

Essentially, we are starting five minutes earlier and ending five minutes later (on avaerage per grade level).

We ubnderstand this is a significant change. Thank you for your felexibility as we adjust our schedule to be in complinace.

Supply Lists

Many families have asked about school supplies for the 2026–27 school year. Below is a link to our recommended supply list. Please note that these items are voluntary donations to help support classroom learning.
We want all students to have the materials they need to be successful. If your family is unable to provide supplies, no worries—Parkmont will have supplies available for all students. We appreciate any donations and thank you for supporting our classrooms and students.

PTA 2025-26 Recap!

Are you aware of all the programs, financial support, volunteer opportunities, and eventsthat our Parkmont PTA has provided throughout the 2025–26 school year?

Our PTA has been an incredible partner in helping make Parkmont a vibrant, supportive, and enriching place for every student. Through fundraising, volunteerism, and community engagement, they have provided resources and opportunities that directly benefit our Parkmont Panthers both inside and outside the classroom.

Attached is a flyer highlighting the many ways our PTA has supported students, staff, and families this year. From funding important programs and classroom resources to organizing memorable events and creating opportunities for families to connect, the impact of their work can be seen across our entire campus.

Every membership, donation, volunteer hour, and act of support helps make a difference for our students. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making Parkmont such a special place to learn and grow!
