Panther News and Updates

Hello Parkmont Community,

As we come to the close of another wonderful school year, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you—our students, parents, staff, and community members—who make our school such a special place.

This year has been filled with growth, learning, and joyful moments. Each day has been a celebration of discovery and development. We are so proud of the hard work, kindness, and resilience our students have shown.

Our families have been excellent partners and your support has been essential. From helping with homework to cheering at performances and events, you are a vital part of our school community.

A special thank you to our PTA members and in particular our executive board. We have had an amazing year of events and activities due to their hard work and dedication.

And to our students: thank you for bringing your energy, your laughter, and your curiosity to school every day. You have inspired us all, and we are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished.

As we head into summer, I encourage everyone to take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. Keep reading, exploring, and learning—summer is full of opportunities to grow in new and exciting ways.

I wish all of our fifth grade students good luck as they get ready to leave us for the middle school.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall for another exciting school year. Until then, have a safe and happy summer!

Warm regards,

Walt Lewis, Proud Principal

CAASPP Student Score Reports

Congratulations to all of our students and teachers for completing CAASPP assessments. This is a major milestone our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders accomplish every year. Great work Parkmont Panthers.

CAASPP Student Score Reports

For the 2025 CAASPP summative exams administration, students and families have access to Student Score Reports (SSRs) through “State Test Scores” within Aeries. These should be available in the fall. In addition to traditional pdf score reports, individualized video SSRs will also be available through the Aeries Parent Portal. A Parent Guide to Understanding score reports is available in nine languages at Starting Smarter CAASPP.

Trimester 3 Elementary Report Cards

Elementary report cards will be posted in the Illuminate Parent Portal on Friday, May 30.

Teachers can still edit Trimester 3 report cards through Monday, June 2. Final attendance data for the 2024-25 school year will be reflected on the report card on June 2.

Staff and parent/guardian access to Illuminate will end on July 1.

To ensure a smooth and equitable celebration for all students, please follow these guidelines:
  • Students must follow the school dress code (no heels for safety).
  • Please do not bring balloons, large stuffed animals, or oversized items into the MUR (Multipurpose Room), as these can block the view of others. These are welcome at the reception area following the ceremony.
  • Leis and candy necklaces should also be saved for the reception.

Volunteer Opportunity
Thanks to all of the volunteers who have signed up to assist with the promotion.

We’re still in need of parent volunteers to help make these celebrations special. We kindly ask that you sign up to support a class other than your child’s, so you can fully enjoy your own child’s ceremony.

Your time and support will help create a memorable send-off for our amazing 5th graders. Thank you for helping us end the year on such a meaningful and joyful note!
Warm regards,

Walt Lewis

Teacher Assignments
  • Many parents and students have asked how to find out which teacher and room number your student has for the 2025-26 school year. Your child’s teacher will be listed in the AERIES Parent Portal on Friday, August 8th at 4:00 PM. TK and K parents will also find out if their schedule is an AM or PM schedule on August 8th. Information regarding how to access your parent portal will be sent out with a Parkmont Welcome Letter in early August.

Supply List
  • Following is the suggested school supply list for each grade level. For the past few years school budgets have been reduced, our Parkmont parents have helped by providing classroom supplies. This is a voluntary donation. These supplies are readily available in most variety and stationary stores. Thank you for your generosity.

Bell Schedule/Academic Calendar

More detailed information will be available in early August with our Parkmont Welcome Letter.

Volunteer Tea

Thank you to everyone who attended our Volunteer Tea. This was a wonderful event and we were so happy to honor all of our volunteers. Your dedication and commitment to Parkmont makes all of the difference! A special thank you to Ms. Ditona, Ms. Dhillon, Ms. Ayubi, and Ms. Ramirez for taking the lead on this wonderful event.
Teacher Appreciation

Teacher Appreciation Week

A huge thank you to our entire community for making Teacher Appreciation Week so special!

Our teachers arrived on campus Monday morning to find their doors beautifully decorated—what a touching and thoughtful way to show appreciation from our families. I even saw a few teachers moved to tears by such an inspiring gesture.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed food, gifts, and time to make the week so memorable. Your generosity and support mean the world to us.

Most of all, our biggest thanks go to our amazing Panther students. Your kind words, handmade cards, flowers, and thoughtful gifts brought so much joy to our staff. You continue to show what it means to be kind, caring, and community-minded—true Panther spirit in action!

Thank you all for helping us feel so valued and appreciated.
