Panther News and Updates

Hello Parkmont Community,

As we enter the final weeks of school, it’s hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by. What an incredible journey it has been—filled with growth, achievement, and countless memorable moments.

We're energized to finish the year with the same spirit and strength with which we began.

This past weekend, our parent and student community came together in a beautiful display of gratitude by decorating every classroom door in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. Words can’t fully capture how meaningful this gesture was. Our teachers and staff arrived to find their doors transformed and their hearts full—each smile a reflection of the love and appreciation they felt.

To everyone who contributed their time, creativity, and kindness: thank you. Your efforts have set a powerful tone for a week of recognition, and you’ve reminded every educator and staff member just how deeply valued they are.

Walt Lewis, Proud Principal

Promotion Ceremony Banner

Fifth Grade Promotion

Dear Parkmont 5th Grade Families,

As we approach the end of the school year, our fifth-grade teachers have planned a series of exciting activities to celebrate and honor our students as they prepare to transition to sixth grade.

We kicked things off on May 2 with a fun-filled field trip to Big Al’s—and the reviews are in! Our fifth graders had an amazing time. A big thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped make this event such a success.

Below is a list of other upcoming events:

Upcoming Events:
  • May 28 – Picnic (Parent Volunteers Needed - Check with your child's teacher)
  • May 29 – Field Day at Parkmont

May 30 – 5th Grade Promotion Ceremonies (Parent Volunteers Needed)

  • Silveira: Promotion (8:30–9:00) | Reception (9:00–9:30) – Picnic Tables
  • Fereira: Promotion (9:05–9:35) | Reception (9:35–10:05) – Picnic Tables
  • Boyer: Promotion (10:05–10:35) | Reception (10:35–11:05) – Picnic Tables
  • Huff: Promotion (10:40–11:10) | Reception (11:10–11:40) – Library

We’re looking for parent volunteers to help make our fifth grade promotion celebrations truly special. Please consider signing up to support a fifth grade class—ideally one that’s not your child’s—so you won’t miss your own child’s promotion ceremony. You can find the [Sign-Up Sheet here].

Your time and support will help create lasting memories for all our students. Thank you for helping us end the year on a high note!

Thank you,

Walt Lewis,
Proud Principal
