Panther News and Updates

Walking into classrooms, it is clear our Panthers are hard at work already and involved in all manner of learning activities. Our character trait for September is Friendship. We've been taking many opportunities to discuss what it means to be a friend and to encourage healthy friendships. These are the things we are encouraging for our Panthers. Please take sometime to discuss with your child friendships. Mrs. Angela Tsang.

Kindergarten Early Dismissal

Kindergarten early dismissal will continue on through September 5th. Students will be released daily at 11:32 to accommodate kindergarten in class one on one testing.

Campus Security

To help us keep our campus safe and secure, we ask that families drop off and pick up children only in the designated areas. We’re not able to have parents in the main part of campus during these times, but our drop-off and pick-up zones make the process quick and easy.
If you ever need to bring something to your child’s classroom, just stop by the office first—our staff will be happy to help get it to the right place.

Back to School Night / August 19th

We’ve had such a fantastic start to the school year, and now we can’t wait to welcome you to Back to School Night at Parkmont!

Schedule:
  • K–2nd Grade: 5:00 PM
  • 3rd–5th Grade: 5:30 PM

This special evening is your chance to step inside your child’s classroom, connect with their teacher, and get a first look at all the exciting learning, activities, and opportunities coming this year. You’ll hear about classroom expectations, curriculum, and the wonderful things planned for your child’s grade level.

This night is just for parents and guardians so we can focus on sharing information with you. While we’d love to talk about each amazing Panther, this isn’t the time for one-on-one conferences. If you’d like to discuss your child specifically, please reach out to their teacher to set up a separate time.

At 5:30 PM, you can also meet our amazing Intervention Teacher (Ms. Young), Science Teacher (Ms. Dhillon), and Computer Teacher (Ms. Simon) at the picnic tables in front of the MUR.

Presentations:

A quick parking tip: Our parking lot is small, so if you can, park in the neighborhood or enjoy a short walk to campus—it’s shaping up to be a lovely evening!

We’re so excited to see you there and kick off an amazing year together.

Separation Anxiety and School Adjustment

Whether your child is returning to school or beginning for the first time, it’s natural for some students to feel separation anxiety and need extra support as they adjust.

The following resources are designed for parents and guardians who have concerns about their child’s transition to school. Inside, you’ll find practical tips, helpful conversation starters, and strategies to build your child’s comfort and confidence in the school environment.

Please access theses resources using the folder link. In this folder you'll find tip sheets in English/Spanish/Mandarin/Pashto.
If you have questions please contact our counselor Angela Tsang. Your partnership makes all the difference in helping our students feel safe, connected, and ready to learn.

Looking to Volunteer?

We love and really appreciate our school volunteers! Please remember that all FUSD school volunteers are required to be cleared through the Civicore approval process each year. You may start that process now so you are cleared and “ready to go” when a volunteer opportunity that you are interested in arises.

This link is for the FUSD website “Volunteer Opportunities” page. Please click the “Volunteer Opportunities - Civicore” button to begin the clearance process.

No Glass Containers at School

Lunch Safety: Glass containers are not permitted on our campus. They create a safety hazard when they break in our lunch area or on the playground. Please let anyone who is preparing lunch or a snack for your child know about this important rule. Thank you!

Parking in the Red Zone, Drop-off Loop and Staff Parking Lots

Please do not park in the Red Zone in front of our school, in the Staff Parking lots, or Pick-up/Drop-off loop.

We have very limited staff parking here at Parkmont. The parking lots are for staff and disabled parking only.

Due to the Heavy traffic, if you are not using the drop-off loop, please park safely in the residential area and walk your child onto our campus. Parking in the middle of the street to drop-off or pick-up your child is strictly prohibited.

We are looking for parent volunteers to help us with monitoring  the pick-up and drop-off loop before and after school.
