FUSD Students Showcase Creativity at Second Annual Young Innovators & 3D Print Challenge

FUSD proudly hosted the second annual Young Innovators & 3D Print Challenge in collaboration with the Mission San Jose Rotary Club and Ohlone College.

The event was held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Ohlone College Newark Center. The day began with an Event Kickoff and Project Walkthrough at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Awards Ceremony at 1:00 p.m.

This STEaM-focused competition challenged students to envision and design original products that improve society. The 3D Print Challenge was open to students in grades 7–12, encouraging participants to apply engineering, creativity, and problem-solving skills through innovative design.

New this year, students in grades 3–6 participated in the Young Innovators Challenge, expanding opportunities for younger students to explore STEaM across a broad range of disciplines — inclusive of, but not limited to, 3D printing.

The event received an overwhelming response, with more than 232 team applications submitted, demonstrating the growing enthusiasm for hands-on innovation and technology across FUSD schools.
