PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

CONSIDER PUBLIC TESTIMONY REGARDING THE DISTRICT’S SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION (“SBE”) TO REQUEST THE RENEWAL OF ITS WAIVER OF CERTAIN STATUTORY BID PROCEDURES FOR THE SALE OR LEASE OF SURPLUS PROPERT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Education (“Board”) of the Fremont Unified School District (“District”) at its regular board meeting to be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, will conduct a public hearing to invite and consider public testimony regarding the District’s submission of an application to the State Board of Education (“SBE”) to request a renewal of its waiver of certain statutory bid procedures for the sale or lease of surplus property found at Education Code section 17455 et seq.

On January 23, 2023, the Board declared surplus and authorized the District’s staff to proceed with the disposition of vacant land, approximately eleven (11) gross acres (APN 543-439-3-13; formerly a portion of APN 543-0439-003-04), located on Ardenwood Boulevard, in the City of Fremont, California (“Patterson Property”). The Patterson Property is depicted as “Parcel A” in the attached plat map. Following the District’s fulfillment of the requirements for a SBE waiver request, including holding a public hearing, the Board authorized the District’s request for a waiver at its regular meeting held on November 15, 2023, and the SBE approved the waiver on March 6, 2024. This initial waiver expires in March 2026 and must be renewed.

The public hearing on the request to renew the waiver will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, in the Education Center Board Room, located at 4210 Technology Drive in Fremont, California, 94538.
