We are so happy to have the students back at school and able to check out books from Maloney Library! Here is some information about our school library.

Volunteers are welcome and needed to help shelve, cover books, make bookmarks for the students, etc. Please contact me if you are able to help out!

LIBRARY HOURS: (Library closed Mondays)

Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays: 8:00 am-2:55 pm

Wednesdays: 8:00 am-1:05 pm (Note: library may close earlier for scheduled meetings)

Students may come to the library before school, at recess or after school to trade books if they have finished all of their books, or check out books if they were absent on their library day.

Parents: if you need to contact me, please do so by email or after school. Although the library is "open" during school hours, library time is instructional time for the students, so I am unable to answer phone calls or have visitors during class time.

Weekly Library class visits will begin soon

Each class will visit the library weekly for storytime and book checkouts.

Books are checked out for one week and must be returned on your student's library day (or as designated by your student's teacher).

If your student wants to renew a book, they must still bring it back on the due date to be renewed.

Library Fines

The school library does not charge daily overdue fees. However, the district requires that fees be charged for lost or damaged books. Paperbacks are $10 minimum, hardbacks $25 minimum.

Parents, please help your student(s) be responsible for taking care of their library books!

Keep school library books in a safe place, away from siblings and pets.

Keep school library books separate from your public library books or personal book collections.

Please do NOT return Maloney school library books to the public library, as they may become lost books.

Please do not put library books in a backpack along with e.g. a water bottle, juice container, yogurt, or other potentially leaky things. "Leak-proof" bottles often do leak.

If it is raining, make sure your student keeps their books dry.

Please help your student remember to return their library books on their library day.

If you are planning to move and/or change schools, please make sure your student returns their library books to their teacher or the school library before they leave Maloney.

Thank you!!! We are looking forward to a wonderful school year, and having fun READING!!!
