Mission San Jose, American, Irvington, Kennedy High Schools Named to AP School Honor Roll

Congratulations to the four Fremont Unified high schools named to the 2024 AP School Honor Roll!

This College Board recognition is granted to schools whose Advanced Placement programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

Mission San Jose High School: Platinum Recognition

• Expanded college culture by enabling 93% of the Class of 2025 to experience 1 AP course before graduating.
• Assisted with college affordability by enabling 89% of the Class of 2025 to earn college credit by earning an AP Exam score of 3.
• Optimize student's college readiness by creating opportunities for 41% of the Class of 2025 to take a total of 5 APs across their high school years, with at least 1 taken in 9th or 10th grade.

American High School: Gold Recognition

• Expanded college culture by enabling 72% of the Class of 2024 to experience 1 AP course before graduating.
• Assisted with college affordability by enabling 68% of the Class of 2024 to earn college credit by earning an AP Exam score of 3.
• Optimize student's college readiness by creating opportunities for 41% of the Class of 2024 to take a total of 5 APs across their high school years, with at least 1 taken in 9th or 10th grade.

Irvington High School: Gold Recognition

• Expanded college culture by enabling 71% of the Class of 2024 to experience 1 AP course before graduating.
• Assisted with college affordability by enabling 66% of the Class of 2024 to earn college credit by earning an AP Exam score of 3.
• Optimize student's college readiness by creating opportunities for 20% of the Class of 2024 to take a total of 5 APs across their high school years, with at least 1 taken in 9th or 10th grade.

John F. Kennedy High School: Bronze Recognition

• Expanded college culture by enabling 43% of the Class of 2024 to experience 1 AP course before graduating.
• Assisted with college affordability by enabling 29% of the Class of 2024 to earn college credit by earning an AP Exam score of 3.
• Optimize student's college readiness by creating opportunities for 8% of the Class of 2024 to take a total of 5 APs across their high school years, with at least 1 taken in 9th or 10th grade.

Mission San Jose, American and Irvington high schools were honored at these levels in 2023, the first year these awards were given. This is the first year that Kennedy High School is being recognized.
