Cristina Quezada Named Fremont Unified School District’s 2026 Educator of the Year
Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) was honored to name Cristina Quezada as its 2026 Educator of the Year. The official announcement was made during the District’s Board of Education meeting on Wednesday evening. Quezada was selected from an exceptional group of nominees representing schools across the district.
“I’d like to recognize all of our incredible educators. As John Wooden said, ‘A good teacher can change the course of history,’ and that impact is evident across our district,” said Superintendent Zack Larsen. “Cristina Quezada is an inspiring and dedicated early elementary teacher at W.W. Brier Elementary School who fosters student growth, confidence, and a genuine excitement for learning.”
“Cristina is a natural leader who leads with humility, generosity, and a deep commitment to collaboration. She strengthens instruction through her leadership in structured literacy and by modeling best practices, ensuring every teacher feels supported with practical strategies and shared learning. Her impact extends beyond the classroom as she builds a strong, connected school community where both students and staff thrive,” said principal Tammy Pachote.
In addition to Cristina Quezada, the 2026 finalists were: Keith Yamagata, Centerville Middle School, and Erica Davis, Patterson Elementary School.
