John F. Kennedy High School Visit
John F. Kennedy High School holds a special place in the FUSD high school lineup. Smaller but focused, it features a long-standing block schedule, a close partnership with MVROP next door, and a dedicated team of teachers and administrators. Principal Dr. Ronaldo Fisher welcomed Trustees Sharon Coco and Larry Sweeney, Superintendent Zack Larsen, Executive Director Tom Ekman (a JFKHS graduate!), and Director of Secondary Education Leslie Heller, for an informative tour of active classrooms, along with valuable opportunities for student interaction. Special thanks to teachers and Kennedy staff for supporting the visit as district personnel checked in across various areas of JFKHS.
One vibrant moment of many was stepping into a culinary arts class and witnessing true hands-on learning in action, tours continued with marveling at the impressive Homecoming decorations and student-created mural work. The newly renovated Round Room provided an excellent setting for an open and thoughtful discussion with a panel of 18 students. The emotional, academic, and social intelligence of this caring student group reflects the strength and promise of the entire school community.
Congratulations to the Titans!
