With Sincere Thanks: Teacher Appreciation Week 2025

Dear FUSD Teachers,

This Teacher Appreciation Week, I express my gratitude on behalf of our entire district leadership team. Your commitment to our students, especially during times of change and uncertainty, continues to inspire and center the work we do every day. Thank You.

We recognize that the educational landscape is shifting. Federal decisions are fundamentally altering what it means to teach, lead, and support students in public education. These changes are arriving without the resources our schools truly need, and adequate funding for salaries, supplies, or assistance.

And yet, in the face of these realities, you show up. You continue to create classrooms where students feel safe, challenged, and seen. You advocate fiercely for equity, inclusion, and the right of every child regardless of background, identity, or circumstance to receive a high-quality education. You are not just educators; you are defenders of opportunity and champions for the future.

Fremont Unified remains steadfast in our commitment to stand with you. We will continue to advocate at every level to protect public education and ensure our schools remain places of possibility, not limitation. We see your work. We know it is not easy. We acknowledge you deserve so much more. And we are immensely grateful for all you do.

As a district, we have room to grow and a great deal to explore. I remain optimistic that we can and will continue to expand our thinking and the possibilities that come with that, while also making a concerted effort to ensure FUSD receives full and fair funding from Sacramento.

Thank you for your tireless dedication, your care, and your courage. Our students and our community are better because of you.

With appreciation,
Zack Larsen
Superintendent
Fremont Unified School District
