Welcome to Oliveira Elementary School for the 2022-2023 school year. As the principal of Oliveira, I feel extremely fortunate and proud to be working with such a dedicated and professional staff, collaborative community, and amazing students. My focus this year is on empowering everyone to work as a team as we help every student and adult rise to their potential.
Our goal is to sustain high expectations for students, maintain a quality educational program and provide a positive and caring school environment that will foster individual excellence and lifelong learning for our students.
As we celebrate the 60th year of Oliveira Elementary School we focus on the community that surrounds us. It is a school where the children come first. Oliveira continues to stand for success as we embrace these 3 words: School + Student + Families. If any of these pieces is missing, then the level of success for students and school falters.
This year we will implement a new Social Emotional Curriculum - Second Step - with the themes: Growth Mindset and Goal Setting, Emotion Management and Empathy/Kindness. Anti-Bullying will also be a focus as we continue to provide support through social injustice, equity, and inclusion. As a family we will continue to model the 3 personal standards: Show Respect, Make Good Decisions, Solve Problems. Oliveira invites you to play an active role in your child’s education. For the start of the 2022-2023 school year, we welcome volunteers on campus & in classrooms. Teachers may allow one (1) volunteer at a time to help in their classroom. Volunteers need to check into the office and follow the procedures. We can help our families navigate the volunteer sign in so that you can participate and support our school. Regular communication with your child’s teacher is essential as we believe it takes a village to help each and every student be successful.
