Seventh Grade students at Walters Middle School study World History focusing on the social, cultural, and technological changes that occurred in Europe, Africa, and Asia during the years from 500 to 1789 A.D.  Students learn how the contributions of previous civilizations have affected later civilizations, and how the modern world has its roots in the past.

In the Eighth Grade students at Walters study United States History focusing on the ideas, issues, and events from the writing of the Constitution up to World War I. There is considerable emphasis placed upon the study of government, our Constitution, and a citizen's responsibilities within a democracy.

Along with social science concepts, all history courses at Walters stress geographic literacy, organizational skills and critical thinking.
