Principal’s Message:

Dear Weibel Families,

We have already reached the end of the first trimester.  Time goes by so quickly!  As we wrap up the first trimester, I hope all of you took the opportunity to make an appointment with your child’s teacher for our parent-teacher conference week.  If you would like a translator for the meeting, please inform the teacher ASAP.  This is a great opportunity for you and your child to meet the teacher to discuss the areas of strengths and improvements in both social-emotional development as well as academic progress.

Thank you so much to everyone for all your support with the school fundraiser, Boosterthon.  Weibel raised close to $25,000 to support our school with student activities, such as the Magic Assembly coming in December.  The amount raised is before the percentage we owe Boosterthon.  Even with the dues, we still end up with a great amount of the donations.  This is due to the Corporate Match program.  I urge all of you to be sure to follow through with this.  This portion of the fundraiser is what makes it all worthy to work with Boosterthon.  Special thanks to our PTO group for setting all this up and creating another wonderful memory of our Wildcat Run.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season.  As we approach our first break, I wish everyone a safe holiday break. We do have many breaks coming along and your family may have some traveling plans.  If you already know of any absences, please call the front office.  Be sure to scroll down and read this newsletter in its entirety as there’s so much information!

Happy Holidays!

Ms. Lee

WEIBEL NEWS

BE ON TIME!

Majority of the students who are late to school are late by only 1-2 minutes.  This can be changed with YOUR HELP! It’s really important to teach students about coming to school on time.  If you and your child are running to the school gate to meet the bell, that means you just need to leave your house 1-2 minutes earlier.  I know it’s easier said, but let’s show the students that with little change, we can make huge improvements.  As we move on to the 2nd trimester, our office will be reaching out to families who are not meeting the 8:25am bell.

NO ORGANIZED GROUPS ON CAMPUS WITHOUT PERMITS

NO Organized groups/after school activities on Campus –

Please be aware that no after school/group activities are allowed on school property after school hours including weekends.  This includes field usage of sport leagues.  These all require permits.

If you are interested in renting our facilities.  You must go through Facilitron and apply to the school district.  Please look here for more information. https://www.facilitron.com/fusd94538

SNACK DONATIONS!

Weibel staff loves snacks, especially chocolates and candies.  We have an ongoing candy/chocolate drawer in our staff room.  If you are feeling generous and would like to donate, please feel free to drop them off at the office.  We ask that these are individual items, so that the staff can grab and go as they need a little energy boost throughout the day.  Thank you so much in advance!

Counselor’s Corner!

Hi Parents/Caregivers,

I hope you are doing well and staying warm as we transition into colder weather! I have enjoyed getting to know the students here at Weibel and look forward to continuing supporting them on the individual, group, and classroom levels.

Holiday season is coming soon and for many, it can be very overwhelming and stressful. If you’d like to join me in prioritizing mental wellness this holiday season, here are two helpful resources from Care Solace that can help make that easier: Tips for Mental Wellness During the Break and Gratitude Journal pages. The gratitude journal is just one example of an activity that you could do with the whole family!

As always, if you have any questions about the counseling services offered at Weibel or if you’d like to refer your student to counseling, please don’t hesitate reaching out. My goal this year is to make sure that all of our students feel supported and successful while they are here at school.

Warmly,

Kiauna Day-Smith

Weibel School Counselor

Thank you to our Weibel Families for supporting our Scholastic Book Fair.  This was a fundraiser for our Library and generated $2172 in cash profit as well as $300 in books purchased from the book fair.  All profit goes directly toward purchasing new books for our Library.  Our generous families also donated 59 books to their teacher’s classroom libraries! This could not happen without our dedicated PTO parent volunteers, and wonderfully supportive staff and teachers.
