It has been a fast and wonderful first month of school.  Thank you to all who attended Back to School Night 2024.  As students are relearning their routines and expectations, our school has been focusing on character development and school expectations.  Please continue to have conversations with your child about the importance of respecting others and demonstrating school expectations. WILDCATS ROAR!Â
The month of October/November is filled with school-wide activities. We will kick off the month with our Walk & Roll to school day. Â All of FUSD will be participating in the Alameda County Walk & Roll to school day on October 9th. Â During the next two months, we have many other school-wide activities planned: Red Ribbon week, Costume parade, Wildcat Run, Ruby Bridges walk to school day, and more! Â We look forward to seeing you at some of these events.
Our Costume parade and Wildcat Run are events that will allow families to join in the festivities as a spectator. Â This means that you are not required to sign in as you will not be participating in the activities. Â You will just view as a spectator. Â More information will follow as we get closer to the date, and teachers will be informing you with more details. Â
Please scroll down to see our PTO section on this newsletter. Â PTO weekly emails will only be sent to families who join PTO. Â We highly encourage you to join to support Weibel students/teachers and all the activities PTO organizes. Â Weibel staff is so appreciative of everything this group has done for our school, students, and staff. Â We look forward to our annual fundraiser WILDCAT RUN!
Go Wildcats!
Ms. Lee

WEIBEL NEWS
BE ON TIME!
It’s really important to teach students about coming to school on time. Â This teaches students about responsibility, accountability, and meeting deadlines. Â We understand there are circumstances in the morning including traffic. Â Weibel opens at 8am for breakfast and 8:10 for blacktop with supervision. Â Let’s teach our children that it’s better to be early than late! Â
Please note that Paseo Gate is only open for walkers. Â It is not a drop off lane. Â Fremont police have been spotted there many times so far to be sure you’re not dropping students off in the middle of the street or the bike lane. Â This is dangerous, please be safe!
Â
SNACK DONATIONS!
Weibel staff loves snacks, especially chocolates and candies. Â We have an ongoing candy/chocolate drawer in our staff room. Â If you are feeling generous and would like to donate, please feel free to drop them off at the office. Â We ask that these are individual items, so that the staff can grab and go as they need a little energy boost throughout the day. Â Thank you so much in advance!
Â
Counselor’s Corner!
Hi Parents/Guardians/Caregivers,
I hope that you are doing well! I am very excited to support Weibel students this year as the new School Counselor. By now, I have been introduced to all grade levels. I’ve shared with students and staff about the importance of counselors at school; how school counselors help students manage their emotions, practice their problem solving skills, learn coping strategies, and so much more!
As you may know, last week was Start with Hello Week and it was a huge success! It was great seeing the students dress up during the different days (like on tie-dye Thursday). Kids enjoyed the lunch time activities and also went out of their way to be kind to others and include them in their play-time activities. I encourage you to ask your student(s) about how it went and see if they were an Upstander that week (and if not, help them brainstorm some ways they could become an Upstander). An Upstander is someone who:Â speaks or acts in support of an individual or cause, particularly someone who intervenes on behalf of a person being attacked or bullied. Throughout this year, we want to continue building a culture of community and inclusion at Weibel. No one deserves to be left out or isolated. If your student is feeling excluded from others, please reach out for support and encourage them to talk with a trusted adult at this school.
If you have any questions about the counseling services offered at Weibel (or if you’d like to refer your student to counseling), please reach out and I will respond as soon as I can. My goal this year is to make sure that all of our students feel supported and successful while they are at school. We all wear so many hats and it is nice to have a confidential space where we can be ourselves without shame or judgment.
Reading increases knowledge and vocabulary, lowers stress, and supports your child’s emotional growth. But perhaps the best benefit is the lasting bond you create with your child when you read with them. Visit the Book Fair in the Library with your child to discover new books together! All proceeds benefit your Weibel Library.
In-School and Online Shopping Options! With Book Fair eWallet, a safe and convenient digital payment account, your student can shop the Fair cash-free! And if you’re not able to attend the Fair, try our new online shopping option. We’ve partnered with The Scholastic Store™ to offer over 6,000 products that ship direct to your home (free shipping on orders of $25 or more)! Visit our homepage to access eWallet or shop online:
Fremont Unified School District has a new Self-Service Password Reset Tool through the ClassLink platform as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the security and independence of the digital teaching and learning experience. ClassLink is designed to allow students and staff to manage their own account passwords securely and efficiently.
On August 8, passwords were reset on all student email accounts that did not complete the ClassLink process.
