FUSD COVID-19 Vaccine Requirements
FUSD has no COVID-19 vaccine requirement for students at this time.Â
California has a pending statewide vaccine mandate for all students and staff in public and private schools once a COVID-19 vaccine is fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
Update from the California Department of Public Health on April 14, 2022: "To ensure sufficient time for successful implementation of new vaccine requirements, California will not initiate the regulatory process for a COVID-19 vaccine requirement for the 2022-2023 school year and as such, any vaccine requirements would not take effect until after full FDA approval and no sooner than July 1, 2023."
The timeline and requirements of this mandate are beyond the control of FUSD. FUSD will continue to ensure that our health and safety practices are fully aligned with the recommendations and requirements of our local and state health officials.
FUSD will provide updates as they become available and be prepared for implementation when new regulations go into effect.
