Attendance and Tardies

Please remember that being on time to school is important.  Instruction begins directly after the start of the school bell and if your child is continually tardy they are missing out on important information.  Children are marked tardy when they are not present in their class line when the teacher picks them up at 8:23 A.M.  Students arriving at school after 8:23 A.M. need to stop by the Attendance Office for a late slip to get into class.  Attendance is important, too.  When students miss class, they miss instruction, and this affects learning.

Students must be in class the first school day. If the student is not in class the first day of school, the student may be transferred to another school effective the second day of school if classrooms at the school of original enrollment are filled. (BP 5113.1)
