Student Illness

A child should be kept home when he/she is ill. Do not send children to school if they show any of the following symptoms: a runny nose, red or runny eyes, excessive coughing or sneezing, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, a rash or a sore throat. All of these are signals that a child is coming down with a cold or possible infectious disease. Children with a fever of 99.5 degrees or higher will be sent home. Children should not return to school until their temperature has been normal for 24 hours (98.6 degrees) without medication. Children who vomit at school will be sent home. Children with unidentified rashes who come to school will be sent home. Please be sure that we have current phone numbers, pager numbers and mobile phone numbers for both parents and for people who can pick up your child if you cannot be reached. Your sick child needs to be picked up promptly.
