June 6, 2024
Dear Fremont Unified Community,
I hope that summer break is off to a great start for our students, staff and families! We are sending our final newsletter of the year to share the information below for those returning to Fremont Unified next school year, and to celebrate the Class of 2024.
Congratulations to each of the graduates who walked across the stage earlier this week, and to those who will graduate over the summer. Each of these students have overcome challenges on their way to this moment, and reached this destination with the support of our excellent educators and school communities, and the families and friends who cheered them on from the stands of Tak Fudenna Memorial Stadium and beyond. Click here to view photos and recordings of the ceremonies.
This is my final newsletter as Superintendent of Fremont Unified School District; my last day with the District is June 30. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served the students, staff, and community of Fremont Unified since 2020. My commitment to student success and my belief in the power of meaningful relationships have guided my work at FUSD, and I believe my passion and commitment to providing the best education for students have made meaningful improvements for FUSD. Of course, these improvements were possible because of the incredible FUSD community that works in partnership to serve our students, and I am grateful to the many individuals and groups who have contributed to the success of our students and schools during my tenure. One such group is our Board of Education; working closely with them as a governance team has been an honor and privilege, and I appreciate each trustee’s commitment to FUSD’s students, staff, and families.
The Board is continuing its work to select FUSD's next superintendent, and I am confident that the next person to take on this role will share my love for the FUSD community, and that under their leadership FUSD will continue its tradition of excellence. Updates on the superintendent search will continue to be posted to fremontunified.org/superintendent as available.
With gratitude,
CJ Cammack
Superintendent
2024-25 Calendar
Please look out for messages from your school and check out school websites for back-to-school information as we get closer to the first day of school on Wednesday, August 14, 2024!
ParentSquare content from the 2023-24 school year will be archived at the end of this week as our student information is updated for the coming school year.
Please look out for messages from the District and your student’s 2024-25 school over the summer.
ClassLink: New Password Reset Tool for Students
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the security and independence of our students' digital learning experience, Fremont Unified School District is introducing a new Self-Service Password Reset Tool through the ClassLink platform. ClassLink is designed to empower our students by allowing them to manage their own account passwords securely and efficiently.
In order to keep student accounts secure, please complete the following steps to ensure your student maintains access to their account for next school year:
STEP 1: In parent email, locate a message from FUSD that contains your “Account claim ID” and “Student ID NUMBER”
We request your prompt action to ensure your student continues to have access to school devices and curriculum, while increasing the security of their user account.
Fremont Unified will transition from Infinite Campus to Aeries as our student information system for the 2024-25 school year.
In July 2024, parents and guardians of students enrolled for 2024-25 will receive information to activate their Aeries Parent Portal, and will use the Portal to complete the annual MAZE process, called “Parent Data Confirmation” in Aeries.
MAZE is Fremont Unified School District’s annual data confirmation process in which parents/guardians:
provide required information for each enrolled student - such as emergency contacts,
acknowledge certain parent/guardian and student rights and responsibilities, and
access specific school forms/information.
Completing the MAZE process ensures your student’s school has accurate information, and allows families to view student schedules/classroom assignments and their teachers when that information
is released in August.
Please look out for additional information about activating your Aeries Parent Portal and completing the MAZE process in the coming months.
FUSD Preschool Enrollment
The FUSD Preschool Program offers two exceptional programs tailored to nurture the growth and development of 3 and 4 year old children: State Preschool and Preschool Enrichment Program.
Our play-based curriculum is designed with a focus on fun and developmentally appropriate learning activities aligned with the California Preschool Learning Foundations. Emphasizing social-emotional growth, kindergarten readiness skills, educational field trips, and family engagement opportunities, our programs provide a holistic approach to early education. We also offer early intervention referrals, demonstrating our commitment to addressing the individual needs of each child.
Information on transitional kindergarten (TK), kindergarten, sibling priority and other new student enrollment for the 2024-25 school year is now available at fremontunified.org/enroll.
Eligibility for transitional kindergarten is expanding: Children who will be 5 years old between September 2, 2024 and June 2, 2025 can enroll in this free program for 2024-25 to get a head start in school and build their social, communication and independence skills.
If your student is currently attending an FUSD school in grades TK-11, there is no need to re-enroll.
