Grade 4 –March, 2023 - May, 2023

Fourth grade students have the new Amplify curriculum which is  NGSS based curriculum. They will be doing a combination of experiments, computer simulations and lessons to learn each unit.

They have completed the units on "Energy and Energy Conversions" and "Vision And Light". They will complete the "Earth's Features" unit then start the final unit.

          "Earth’s Features”

Chapter 4: Why did more rock layers get exposed in Desert Canyon than Keller’s Canyon?

           "Waves Energy And Information Unit"

Chapter 1: How does a mother dolphin communicate with her calf across a distance?

Chapter 2: How does sound energy travel through water from a mother dolphin to her calf?

Chapter 3: How does a dolphin calf know which call is his mother’s call?

Chapter 4: How can humans use patterns to communicate?

Grade 5-  March ,2023 - May, 2023

Fifth grade students have the new Amplify curriculum which is  NGSS based curriculum. They will be doing a combination of experiments, computer simulations and lessons to learn each unit.

Fifth graders have completed the units on "Patterns Of Earth And Sky" and  "Ecosystem Restoration". They will complete the "Modeling Matter" unit then start the final unit.

        “Modeling Matter Unit”

Chapter 3: Why can salad-dressing ingredients separate again after being mixed?

 “The Earth System Unit”

Chapter 1: Why is East Ferris running out of water while West Ferris is not?

Chapter 2: Why does more rain form over West Ferris than East Ferris?

Chapter 3: Why is more water vapor getting cold over West Ferris than East Ferris?

Chapter 4: Why is there more water vapor high up over West Ferris than East Ferris?

Chapter 5: How can East Ferris turn wastewater into clean freshwater?

Grade-6, March, 2023 - May, 2023

Sixth grade students have Amplify which is  NGSS based curriculum.

They have completed the units on "Microbiome".“Metabolism” and “Metabolism and Health Bar”. They did a combination of experiments, computer simulations and lessons.

Sixth graders are currently learning about Traits and Reproduction unit. After completing this unit they will start Thermal Energy unit. They will explore how the thermal energy could be transferred from system to system. They will be doing a series of simulations, activities and lessons to explore the heating and cooling of different systems.

After completing the Thermal Energy unit they will be studying "Ocean, Atmosphere and Weather" Unit.
