FUSD Students Set New Records for AP Exams in 2026
Fremont Unified School District students achieved record levels of participation and success on Advanced Placement (AP) exams during the 2026 school year.
4,625 FUSD students completed 12,146 AP exams in 2026, compared to 2025, participation increased by 242 students (5.5%), while the total number of exams completed grew by 1,080 exams (nearly 10%).
Despite the significant increase in participation, student performance remained exceptionally strong. Overall, 88.9% of all FUSD AP exams earned a passing score.

Several high enrollment AP subjects produced particularly strong results:
- AP World History: 1,231 exams completed; 93.0% passing rate
- AP Psychology: 810 exams completed; 94.8% passing rate
- AP Physics 1: 758 exams completed; 93.0% passing rate
- AP United States Government and Politics: 753 exams completed; 92.7% passing rate
- AP Chemistry: 566 exams completed; 96.8% passing rate
- AP English Literature and Composition: 449 exams completed; 95.1% passing rate
- AP Chinese Language andÂ
- Culture: 249 exams completed; 98.8% passing rate
The 2026 results also reflect the district’s sustained growth in AP participation over the past decade. Since 2016, the number of FUSD students taking at least one AP exam has increased from approximately 2,900 students to more than 4,600 students, while the number of AP exams completed has nearly doubled. During the same period, the districtwide AP passing rate has increased from 81.7% to 88.9%.
