Lead Testing of Drinking Water Info

On October 13, 2017, California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law AB 746 requiring community water systems that serve certain school sites to conduct lead testing in potable water systems before July 1, 2019. In response to this legislation, the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) has worked with the Alameda County Water District (ACWD) to conduct testing on all FUSD campuses.

The California Water Boards have made information available to the public regarding lead testing in schools. Click here to read more from waterboards.ca.gov.

2022-2024 Voluntary Testing Results

On March 11, 2020, the Board approved voluntary lead testing in addition to the state-mandated testing completed in 2018.

This testing was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was started in March 2022. Staff collected samples for lead in drinking water at all Fremont Unified School District school sites in 2022, and follow-up testing was completed for Weibel Elementary in 2023 and 2024.
