College and Career Center Overview

Our College & Career Center is located at the library complex in Room L5 across from the Bell Tower. Open from 7:30 a.m. until 3:45 p.m., students may explore college, MVROP (Mission Valley Regional Occupational Center), scholarship/financial aid, career, employment and volunteer opportunities. In addition to reference materials, study guides, ND college brochures, there are 20 computers with internet access available for student use which link to our college/career development software, CaliforniaColleges.edu. This software promotes an interactive process of exploring possible occupations and schools.

Career and college planning begins by taking interest and aptitude tests that connect with related occupations, majors and colleges. Representatives from colleges across the country visit our College & Career Center for lunchtime and after school presentations, or virtually, typically during the months of September through December. Interested students may listen to guest speakers who come to talk about their specific careers. Students in all grade levels will spend one to three periods each year at the College & Career Center to explore career and college options.

Applications, registration booklets and forms are available for SAT & ACT tests, financial aid, military service and NCAA. Information regarding scholarships, SAT/ACT prep courses and specialized summer programs are continually updated. Students interested in part-time employment may find job opportunities on the College & Career Center Job Board. Work Permit Request applications are obtained and processed through the College & Career Center.

Community volunteer and summer programs are also offered through the College & Career Center.
Our Career/College Specialist, Mrs. Ng, is here to help students find their way through high school & beyond.
