Amy Profile

Ms. Perez has over 20 years of varied educational experience that include teaching at Carmel Middle School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at American High School and at Robertson High School.  In 2014, during her teaching tenure at Robertson she was chosen as FUSD's Teacher of the Year and the Alameda County Teacher of the Year.  Amy’s roles at Robertson High School include EL Liaison, Title I Specialist, and Assistant Principal.  She has led very successful PLC professional development sessions which led to Robertson being named a Model Continuation High School and a National PLC Model School. She has also served as the Assistant Principal at Fremont Adult and Continuing Education, supporting the broader community, recent immigrants and refugees in learning English to accomplish their personal and professional goals.  Additionally, she has been the advisor to FUSD’s SURF BoardE from 2018 - 2023. Amy’s educational values include: building relationships, making decisions in the best interest of students, and the well-being of students’ mental, physical, and social emotional health. Amy is a mom, dog mom, and lover of art, nature, and explorer of new places and cuisine. She is humbled and grateful to be of service to the Mission San Jose students, staff, and families.
