Class Participation & Expectations

Active participation is essential to success in Health class. Engaging fully in class activities not only enhances your own learning but also supports a positive learning environment for everyone. Students are expected to meet the following expectations:

  1. Be On Time
    • Students should be in their seats before the bell rings.
    • If you are not through the doorway when the bell rings, you will be marked tardy.
  1. Come Prepared and Ready to Learn
    • Arrive with all necessary materials and a focused mindset.
    • Remain on task and complete Health assignments before working on assignments from other classes.
  1. Engage in Class Discussions
    • Contribute by asking and answering questions.
    • Participate actively and respectfully in both small and large group discussions.
  1. Follow the Class Code of Conduct
    • Conduct yourself in a way that promotes learning for both yourself and your peers.
    • Limit side conversations during instruction.
    • Behavior concerns will be addressed individually or with the class, depending on the situation.
  1. Respect the Classroom Environment – Our Biosphere
We share this space for much of the semester and are all responsible for maintaining a clean and respectful environment:
    • Dispose of trash properly.
    • Clean up any spills or messes immediately.
    • Pick up trash, even if it isn’t yours.
    • Return class materials to their proper place before the bell rings.
  1. Cell Phone Policy
    • Cell phones are not permitted during class time.
    • Phones must be stored in the designated Cell Phone Holder unless specific permission is given by the teacher.
