California School Dashboard

On November 13th, the California Department of Education (CDE) published the 2025 California School Dashboard and corresponding data files on DataQuest, showing that students in the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) maintain high levels of achievement across multiple indicators.

Our Dashboard results reflect the strong performance of our schools and the dedication of our students and educators. As we move toward the new year, our entire community can take pride in the hard work and commitment that make FUSD such a special place," said FUSD’s Superintendent Zack Larsen.

Notable Findings

Academic Performance

  • English Language Arts received a Blue rating, with students performing 64.7 points above standard. This reflects continued high achievement, with performance holding steady from last year.
  • Mathematics also earned a Blue rating, 54.5 points above standard, showing strong overall performance and a small improvement from the previous year.
  • Science, reported for informational purposes only, reached the highest Blue rating as well, with 67.8 Science Points, indicating strong outcomes across grade levels.

College and Career Readiness

  • Fremont Unified maintained a Blue rating in College/Career Readiness, with 71.2% of graduates meeting the “Prepared” level.
  • This continues to be one of the district’s strongest indicators and highlights students’ access to rigorous pathways and postsecondary preparation.

Student Engagement

  • Chronic Absenteeism improved to a Green rating, decreasing to 9.6%, which is significantly lower than state and county levels. This marks a positive shift following several challenging post-pandemic years statewide.
  • Suspension Rates received a Green rating, with 2.3% of students suspended at least once. This reflects stable year-over-year results and continued focus on positive climate and student support.
  • Graduation Rate remained strong at 93.6%, earning a Green rating and matching last year’s high performance.

English Learner Progress

  • The English Learner Progress Indicator (ELPI) is the district’s only area that showed a decline, earning an Orange rating with 48.1% of English Learners making progress toward English proficiency.
  • While this is a modest decrease, it signals an opportunity for deeper support in language development.
  • Only students classified as English Learners at testing are included; the large number that have already advanced (reclassified) to Fluent English Proficient are excluded from calculations.

Colors on the Dashboard are based on both status and progress since the previous year. The Dashboard assesses multiple measures of school success using either state-collected or local, self-reported data. State measures include Academic Performance, Chronic Absenteeism, College/Career Readiness, English Learner Progress, High School Graduation Rate, and Suspension Rate.
